The Recycling Process

Every Ocean Zero Product is made from 2 lbs. of post consumer plastic.

Our Ocean Zero beach furniture is made with specially formulated polyester fabric, plastic parts and packaging are made with 100%  recycled material. It takes what was once ocean bound plastic trash and recycles it into products, we all can use and enjoy.

For each Ocean Zero chair or umbrella we make, we reclaim and recycle an average of 2 pounds of plastic waste. And, not only is our recycled fabric making use of plastic waste, but this process is more energy efficient than making traditional polyester. It uses 45% less energy, reducing our dependence on petroleum.

This is how we do it.

Step

1

Plastic is collected from oceans, landfills and recycling programs.

Step

2

This plastic waste is cleaned and crushed into small chips.

Step

3

The chips are heated and passed through a spinner to form strings of yarn. The yarn is dyed and knitted into polyester fabric.
